where his girlfriend, Lori A. Hendra, has family.
The mother of these children should also be responsible for
supporting them and not just the father who isn't paying support.
What is the mother doing to make sure the children are being provided for?
She works 60-80 hours per week running a residential maid service to support her children and to make sure they are fully provided for. She is not on any public assistance programs. She also recently earned a bachelors degree in accounting and is studying to sit for the CPA exam. She has also founded a nonprofit organization that assist elderly and disabled veterans and first responders with household maintenance and repair called Cleaning for Heroes. As any good mother would do, she has gone above and beyond to make sure her children are provided for while at the same time making an active difference in the lives of many veterans. Isn't it about time Stephen J. Swallow started to contribute to his children's care? We think so.
What about the families
of the mother and the father. Don't they help out?
The mother's family has been instrumental in providing support that has allowed the mother to work the equivalent of two jobs for the past 11 years and also manage to complete her schooling. The father's family has shown no concern over the well-being of the children and has not even inquired as to whether or not the children were being properly provided for. When R.I. Child Support Enforcement contacted the Swallow family about Stephen's whereabouts the family's response was "no comment" and we have written proof from R.I. CSE to back up this claim. Stephen's siblings, who reside in Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, have gone out of their way to look the other way when it comes to their brother so that he is allowed to continue to “run and hide” in his attempt to avoid his child support obligation, and in essence, have turned a blind-eye to the plight of Stephen's children.
The mother has been supporting the children 100% for the past 11
years with no help from the children's father OR the father's family. Granted, the children do have a roof over their heads
but it needs replacement as it leaks into two of the children’s rooms when it rains. The house is also covered with peeling lead
paint and the 40+ year old furnace that heats the house needs replacement before it stops working altogether. There is not enough
money after the bills are paid to fix the problems with the house that the children call home but if Stephen J. Swallow paid
just a measly 5% of the child support arrearages he owed, it would be enough to fix the roof, paint the house and buy a new furnace.

The family has tried to take
the high road and allow the child support system to work, however, after 12 years of non-support it is obvious that Stephen J. Swallow
is thumbing his nose at the Court System and the responsibilities of being a father. Children deserve both parents to
both nurture and care for them, not just materially, but emotionally as well. The emotional damage he has caused his children
is indescribable. Stephen J. Swallow, and his family, have proven that they has no regards to whether or not these
children are being properly fed, clothed, educated or housed. At this point the the mother of Stephen's children is
ready and willing to expose Rhode Island’s biggest deadbeat dad - Stephen J. Swallow - for the world to see in the hopes that it will
help find him and bring him to justice even if it means making public very painful and intimate facts about the case.
